KIDS DANCE CLASSES
Clover Crew Program

TINY TOTS
Ages 18 mo - 3 yrs

This class is designed for caregivers and their infants/toddlers to learn songs, stories, and activities with a Celtic twist. These classes promote bonding between the caregiver and child, as well as helping children adapt to new surroundings and people.

We will sing songs, read stories, and explore different sounds, colors and textures. We will combine our stories and songs with instrument play, dancing and creative movement with Irish and non-Irish songs.

CREATIVEMENT A/B
A: Ages 2 - 4    B: Ages 4 - 6
Must be 2 by September 1st.

This class is designed for children who are ready to dance on their own. We will dance in a stimulating environment with an emphasis on group interaction, creativity, and learning the joys of self-expression.  Creative Movement curriculum is designed to help dancers learn to follow directions and build confidence with group exercises.

Creative Movement classes strengthen a student’s spatial awareness and introduce the basic rules of Irish dance. Musical instruments along with fun and educational props are used to enhance rhythmical timing, moving in different directions and physical skills like turning, jumping and galloping.

INTRO TO IRISH DANCE
Ages 6-12
Must be 6 by September 1st.

Posture and correct body alignment is emphasized as students begin to build a solid foundation for Irish dance and for injury prevention. Much of Irish dance is borrowed from ballet, therefore, dancers will learn how to work at the barre while executing basic positions and movements for their foundational Irish dance skills.

Learning to maintain focus and concentration during class is an especially important aspect of the Pre-Irish Dance year. Dancers will participate in age-appropriate exercises that aid in increasing flexibility, carriage/posture, musicality, coordination, balance, and strength. Simple jumps and fun traveling steps are introduced to build muscle control and stamina, while also encouraging the joy of movement and expression.
